The Perfect Date Is there really such a thing as a perfect first date? Surely there's no solution to the awkward chit-chat and spilt drinks? Of course there is because the Pupiline team have come up with another fantastic guide to make ALL your dates perfect. Top first date tips... It's always hard to relax, especially when you're trying to make a good impression on someone you're crazy about, so follow our top first date tips to calm those nerves and make yourself irresistible! LADS:
- Offer to pay for the girl if you're taking her to the cinema. If she refuses at first keep trying, she's sure to give in eventually because we love being spoilt.
- Follow the notorious Oli's example from his J17 date and give her flowers. He's still seeing the mystery lady now so obviously the rumours about him being a bit of a smoothy are true!
- Compliments are definitely good, as you will boost her confidence if she knows you're interested, which will make the rest of the date much easier. Don't say something you don't really mean though, as it's not fair to lead her on, especially on the first date.
- If she's cold, offer her your jacket, there's nothing wrong with being a bit of a gentleman now and then ;)
- Unfortunately for you lot, most girls will expect the lad to make the first move, so if you think the time is right for the first smooch of the evening seize the moment before it's too late.
- Wear your fave deodorant, and don't be afraid to spend that extra five minutes on your hair - you'll feel more confident and first impression definitely count.
- Whether the evening has been a success or a total failure, make sure you see her home safely, as it could make all the difference in asking to see her again.
GIRLS: - If you're not up to full on flirting, be coy and pretend not to notice when his arm surreptitiously creeps round your waist. He'll work even harder to get your attention if he's interested.
- Try not to be too shy, lads might like a challenge but if you only say two words throughout the whole date he might get the wrong idea.
- Dress in clothes that you feel confident in, you don't want to be tweaking at an uncomfortably low neckline all night!
- If he takes you out to dinner, make an effort to eat something however shy you feel, otherwise you will both feel uneasy.
- Don't worry about turning up a little late, you're a girl, you're allowed to spend ages getting ready ;)
What to do guide...
Cinema - Absolutely ideal for a first date. The film means there's little need for awkward chat, and darkness is the perfect atmosphere for some subtle flirting or even that first scary snog. Romantic Walk - Ok, so it sounds seriously cheesy, but a walk in your local park gives you some time to have one of those 'deep and meaningful' chats that you don't realise you're enjoying until you're interrupted. Nightclubs - Not necessarily the most intimate place for a date, but you can still impress each other with your seductive partying skills ;) Concert - If you have the same music tastes, managing to get hold of some tickets for the next Ash or Steps gig is a great idea for a perfect date. With all the singing and messing around you won't have time to get cuddly, but afterwards you'll both feel so hyper that the whole night will have been a definite success. Theme Park - Theme parks like Chessington or Alton Towers make a wicked date. If you go with a group of friends, you can always go off alone with your boyfriend or girlfriend to make the whole experience more like a date. You'll have loads of fun cuddling up to each other on the scary rides. Bowling or Skating - Show of your fantastic bowling or skating skills and have a bit of a laugh too. A bowling alley is brilliant for a date because it's a chance to compete as well as share time with each other, and skating is also fun because you can make up loads of groovy new moves together. The Beach - Now the weather is deciding to stay nice for more than two minutes, how about a trip down to the local beach. Even if the sun decides not to shine, you can still mess about on the beach and the arcades. Restaurant - If you can afford it, a restaurant is a really nice place to go for a date if you've known each other for a while, especially if you manage to bag one of the secluded tables in a corner. Go Out For Coffee - Go into town and find you local Costa so you can sit down and relax over one of their scrummy 'Frulattos' or 'Iced Coffees'. It's a nice atmosphere to have a chat and catch up if you haven't had time for a proper get together for a while. Quiet Night In - Sometimes the best thing to do is stay at home with a big bag of cheesy Doritos and a couple of good films. Grab the opportunity next time your parents decide to go out together, get rid of any potentially annoying siblings, and invite your boyfriend or girlfriend over instead of having a wild party. There you have it, the complete guide to a perfect date. Get out there and show us what you've got you luuurve machines ;)
