Coping with...Boyfriends

Why do lads never phone when they say they will? Why do they hate shopping, and why are they so obsessed with footie? Pupiline has the answers.

Phone Calls…

The most common reason for a boy not to phone is because he can’t be bothered. It’s not because the girlie isn’t worth it; picking up that phone and having a reasonable conversation is too much hard work if there’s something good on the telly. Another reason might be the fact he likes you sooooooo much that he’s scared of messing up, and a conversation over the phone is more likely to get awkward than if you are together. Apparently another reason is because lads like making you wait because it makes you think about them more… I’ll leave you to decide whether that’s true or not!

Football…

Boys and football are made for each other; there’s nothing that will change that. It’s a way to compete against their mates, and a good way to let off some steam when they’re yelling at Stan Collimore for messing up once again. If you’re like me, you can cope with your boyfriend’s fascination with footie because you’re crazy about it too, but if you’re a girl that hates the word 'football', then you’ll just have to live with it.

Shopping…

Nearly every boy you meet will hate shopping. Some are indulgent and let their girlfriends drag them round the shops from time to time if they’re lucky, but most will say NO unless they can go in the shop and straight back home again if they can get away with it. Unfortunately, you will probably never get your boy to understand the joys of shopping, so stick to a day out with the girlies instead!

Does he like me?

It’s sooooooo hard to find out whether a boy likes you. You have to look for the little signs that tell you he isn’t just flirting. Here, is a comprehensive list that will tell you he’s crazy about you, courtesy of the Pupiline lads:

  • They act stupid from time to time without meaning to,

  • They get uptight when their mates suggest they like you,

  • They can’t talk to you properly, even if you’re good mates,

  • They get jealous when there are other blokes around you,

  • They make things up so they can talk to you more easily.

Acting Hard…

Some lads just can’t help acting tough when they’re with their mates. Not all of them do it, but it’s usually because they feel insecure with their girlfriend around their friends. Lads don’t like showing their emotions, so don’t expect them to be willing to do anything other than have their arm round you when you’re out and about in a group.

I hope that's thrown some light on the weird and wonderful world of boyfriends. If there's any lads out there that think I've missed something..feel free to let me know! Contact editor@pupiline.net
