Friendship Emergency! - What Can I do?

Friends are there for each other in times of trouble but sometimes it can be hard to be supportive as what's going on may be strange or new to us. However these problems and solutions that we've experienced might help in some way.

share that pain 1. Your mate is always down about herself! She's convinced that she's fat, ugly, no one likes her and she hates all her clothes!

Your friend is probably suffering from a lack of self-confidence - so you need to help her see how fab she really is! Get her to make a list of all her good points, and take her out for a fun day full of shopping!

2. HELP! My best mate is so annoying! You never have a laugh together and when you do something it feels like you would rather be tidying your room or chatting with the old bloke next door.

Unfortunately some friendships come to an end. Just because you were close once, doesn't mean you will stay that way, especially as you grow up and experience different things. If it's just a couple of things that annoy you about your friend; try and talk to them about it. If you're sure this will not change anything - you will have to accept that your friendship has ended and you will need to concentrate on new friends. Try and stay in touch though, because who knows what will happen in the future!

Your mate is probably feeling a bit left out and insecure that she's going to lose her best friend. You need to show her that you love her to pieces, and you have room for both of them in your life. Convince her that you value her friendship by planning some cool girlie things to do.

4. You never do anything new! You end up doing the same things whenever you go out, and so you're always arguing over silly little things.

You may be stuck for things to do that you will both enjoy - so why not make a list of all the things you would both love to do and choose one to do every month? You might want to visit a wicked new shoe shop, or perhaps go to a certain football match? Make sure you arrange things with big groups of mates too, so that you and your friend aren't stuck together all the time.

You hate the way your mate does well at school, looks good all the time and manages to be the most popular person you know. To top it all off he/she manages to do it without even trying!

You are probably feeling a little jealous of your friend because you are not very sure of yourself. You will have to tell your mate how you feel, because they probably have no idea you feel this way. Learn to love yourself and your mate 'cos you are both brilliant!
