Pills and Powders... Cocaine and Crack ... Part3 Read on for more information about Cocaine and Crack. Overdoses: Contrary to other reports you can die of an overdose of coke or crack and there’s no set amount that can cause it, some people have died from doing one line others have done 14 grams of crack constantly for 3 weeks and survived. However repeated use of coke or crack produces nasty effects like panic, headaches, nausea, spasms, vertigo, convulsions, anxiety and paranoia, which can lead to hallucination and even psychosis. It can also cause heart attacks, strokes and respiratory collapse, leading to death. Tolerance, Addiction and Dependence: Unlike heroin, you can’t become physically dependent on coke and you don’t get tolerant to it, so you don’t have to keep taking more to get the same effects. However this doesn’t mean that coke and crack are not addictive, they are and amazingly so, why? Because the immense high, especially in crack, followed by the intense low, leads to mental reliance on it. People keep taking it to get the feeling back and do take more, more often keep a constant high. Taking Crack in large amounts can lead to building a tolerance to it, so more is needed to get the effect. Going without both will lead to withdrawal symptoms, which although milder than heroin and not life-threatening like alcohol, are still nasty. This is incredibly dangerous, as like heroin, coke and crack become the centre of people’s lives. Jobs, families and friends go out the window, as the sole reason for living is to get the drug by whatever means. Problems of long-term use: Both crack and cocaine have drastic massive impacts on your health and well being if you keep taking it. Restlessness, insomnia, paranoia, nausea, over-excitability and psychosis replace the pleasure and euphoria of it. Even if you use regularly but don’t take enough to get these unpleasant effects you sill get excitable, suspicious and nervous. However more serious effects arise from constant and frequent use, things like irregular hear beat and abnormally high heart rate due to the drug constantly speeding up the heart. Eating disorders can develop due to loss of appetite caused by both crack and coke, this can also lead to dehydration and digestive problems because of poor diet and eating patterns. If you stop using these problems can clear up, though may take many months to fully recover from. With coke the constant snorting can damage the lining of nose and can collapse, leaving one nostril, Danielle Westbrook is a recent example of this. Whilst crack can lead to all the problems associated with smoking like lung damage and cancer. Both can remove your sexual desire and if injected can lead to HIV and AIDS if infected needles are shared.
