How To Plan The Best BBQ Party In The World…Ever! Part 2

So you've decided on what food you need to cook but what about your drinks and the music? Read on to find out all you need to know.

STEP TWO: COCKTAIL DRINKS

Why not be inventive and create your own drinks using what you’ve bought.

Fabulous Fruity Punch:

If you want to spice up your fruit juice then mix them all together and make a punch. Here is my favourite fruit punch:

LUSCIOUS SLUSH PUNCH

Boil 2 ½ cups of white sugar with 6 cups of water and 2 packets of strawberry gelatine for 3 min. Add in 1 can of pineapple juice with ¾ cup of lemon juice and 1 litre of orange juice. Mix well. Separate into two servings and freeze in containers. Thaw 1 serving into punch bowl and add lemon ‘n’ lime. Stir until slushy…Yummy!

Concoctions of Cocktails:

Have a laugh with all your friends together and make fruit cocktails. See if you can match all of the colours of the rainbow by doing this. Follow this idea for a truly delicious fruit cocktail:

VIRGIN PINA COLADA A yummy and easy to make tropical cocktail

  • 1 cup of ice,
  • 1 ¼ pineapple juice,
  • 1 cup of milk,
  • ½ cup whipped cream,
  • 2 tbsp. white sugar,

Blend all ingredients together until smooth…Mmmm!

Other ideas would be to create fizzy floats with ice cream or even the make some milkshakes. If you’ve blown your budget on posh food for the BBQ and can only afford a few fizzy drinks then liven them up a bit:

Inventive Ice cubes:

Try adding fruit to the ice cube containers before freezing. That way when they are frozen you’ll have pretty looking ice cubes. For example, a slice of lemon or orange, or even a cherry! At least then you don’t have to worry about adding them in your mates' drinks, as they’ll have them already in their ice cubes!

Have fun with your drinks!

STEP THREE: THE SUMMER VIBES

This is the one thing that will either make or break your party being the best ever! Therefore you should really plan before the day of the party. That way you’ll have time to buy a new CD, or go round your friend’s house and borrow a couple of their CDs. However you decide to get your music, make sure the music you do choose will suit the atmosphere of your party. Compilation Albums are always a good idea, and if you are really stuck for music then get you mates to bring some CDs along.

Try these albums depending on the mood of your party:

ULTRA CHILLED

The Chillout Room/Album

Any album that has "Chill out" in the title has got to be good!
