Planning A Good Night Out

OK, so you've decided you and your mates deserve a night out, but how do you go about organising it? Follow our guide to the best and safest night out ever!

What are you going to do?

Find out what is available for your age group in your local area. Make a list of under 18's nights at the local nightclubs, films that you might like to see, concerts that are on and anything else that could make a top night out.

Who's going?

With your best mates, decide on a certain event that you would really like to go to, and see how many of your friends can go with you. Go with the majority - if someone can't go on that particular day they will have to re-arrange their previous plans or not go at all, because there is no point fitting in around just one person.

Cost, start and end times.

You will need to find out how much everything will cost. Book tickets in advance if possible, so that you are guaranteed to get in. Make sure you get everyone to bring at least an extra £5, so they can buy drinks or something to eat, and just in case you are charged to put your belongings away at clubs (its usually about £1 per item). The next thing you need to do is find out exactly when your event starts and finishes.

When and where to meet and get picked up later.

You should consider meeting your mates at least 20 minutes before your event starts to give everyone plenty of time to get organised and ready to enjoy themselves. Make sure you meet in a place that everyone can reach easily, and make it somewhere that is overlooked by other people too, if possible,... rather than a dark street corner! If you can't get a lift with your own parents, see if one of your mates can do you a favour, rather than travelling on the bus on your own at night. The same goes for when you get picked up, wait for your lifts together, and don't catch the bus late at night by yourselves, even if there are more than one of you.

Fun Stuff

You've done the important bits, now you can get on with clothes shopping, arranging sleepovers afterwards, and generally looking forward to the actual night!

SO GET OUT THERE AND ENJOY YOURSELVES! :o)
