FIFA 2001 - Electronic Arts - £39.99 - Out Now

This is another superb footy game that EA Sports have given to us. Now it may not have been 2001 when it was released, but this has all the game play of a footy game "on the box".

Before we get into the game, it's worth mentioning that the big heads from EA Sports have come up with a new idea - on the back of the CD it says "scratch and sniff"!. Grand turismo had a stratch and sniff CD too and that smelt like the racing pits!  FIFA 2001's was supposed to smell like the pitch but smelled like the pits in Grand turismo! (so that was a bit of a mix up wasn’t it.)

Getting to the game - it's a big winner in every category. There is endless stuff you can do. If you play the season mode, there's the ECC Cup and all of the othersl. There's a new use of the L1 button - the very very aggressive tackle! (which turns good players into blubbering wrecks). This type of tackle can be very dangerous for your players too especially if you set the Ref's decision making meter thingy to high.... you might be off for an early bath.

The "through-pass" is better then ever before but if you're not careful you could be offside.... so be careful! Plus. there are more exciting new goal celebrations.

All in all this should be another big game by EA Sports.

 5/5
