World O'Gadgets – Christmas Edition.

"Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat – please spare a gadget for David O's hat". (Hello readers – David O'Gadget here with the first part of a special Christmas Edition of my weekly column).

Each week, I'll be telling you what's caught my beady"Christmas" gadget eye, with a run-down of gizmos that are simply too corking to ignore - Oh Boy!

This week's gadgets are all "Stocking Fillers" – gizmo's that are all around £10 and just perfect as gifts for your friends and family...let's take a peek at some of them....

Air Hockey

Crumbs! I remember playing Air Hockey at the amusement arcade on my family holidays – it was great fun, although I got a horrible blood blister once when the puck bashed into my fingers.

Never mind though, this great mini "Air Hockey" gadget is just perfect for competitive family fun...or even "office hi-jinks".

This version of "Air Hockey" works a little bit like pinball, with both players defending their goal as the air blows from beneath the table, causing the puck to hover above the surface – Crumbs!

(requires 2 "C" size batteries)

Micro FM Radios

"Puff Puff Puff Gasp" – that's the noise I make when I'm out jogging round the "neighbourhood".I'll tell you what though, it would be really great to have some entertainment while I'm out burning off the calories....

Wowee! This little "Micro FM Radio" gadget will be just perfect for someone like me. It's so tiny, it can fit into the palm of my hand, and it's really discrete too – complete with a set of snazzy headphones.

Apparently, this mini wonder's battery will keep on going for up to 40 hours with continuous use – so it'll keep on going even when you run out of steam!

"Hahahhahhhahhahhhahhaaahhahaha....ahem"

Fart Machine

Oh Boy! – I received a great e-mail the other day from one of my fans – here's what it said:

  • Hi David,
Really like your stuff on Pupiline. I have sent you some details of a cool
shop called gadgetshop.com which I visited lately.
There are some cool gadgets there which I know you will like - one of the rude
gadgets is called a fart machine!
It works by infrared and makes a rude noise just like a realistic one!
You can find it on their website...so I hope you like it.

    Jed Riley.

Crumbs! Thanks for that Jed, glad you like my column. I checked out the "Fart Machine" gadget and Oh Boy! – it sure does look like fun.

This naughty gadget lets you play loads O' cheeky pranks – you could hide it behind a chair, table or cushion, and with one press of the remote control button it'll let out a rude noise – PAAAARRRPPPP!

Anyway, this is supposed to be a family column – so I'll move swiftly on – chuckle.

(requires 3 AAA batteries)

Magic 8 Ball

You know readers, sometimes I can be so indecisive; pondering over the simplest of things – like should I have two rich-tea biscuits or be naughty and have three?

I should look no further than this great "Magic 8 Ball" gadget in the future – it'll soon put a stop to my dithering!

All you have to do is ask this super spherical gizmo a question, give it a little shake and then turn it over. In a moment, this ball O'wonders will give you an answer to your dilemma.

"I hope it lets me have another biscuit!"

Cyber Spy

You know, sometimes being a famous gadget enthusiast like myself does have its drawbacks.

For example, people who recognise me often spot me out in public. Oh Boy! – it can be so embarrassing when they start to whisper things....

Well, this fab "Cyber Spy" gadget will enhance conversation by 40 decibels – allowing you to hear people usually out of earshot (like those pesky "fans").

Measuring approximately 1.5 inches the Cyber Spy can fit into the palm of your hand or discretely out of sight from others.

Well that's just about it for this week. I do hope you've enjoyed my collection of "Christmas" gadget ideas - and now, it's time to ask you a favour.

It would be really tremendous if you'd join my "Gadget Gang" and send in details of any gadgets that are brill and which you think everyone should know about. All you budding inventors out there could even send in your ideas for gadgets that you think should be made - send your ideas to: davidogadget@pupiline.net

See you next time....
