Shopping for Christmas Prezzies Part 2- Brothers and Sisters

So you've got what you need for the older memebers of the family...that was the easy part, now you've got to get something for your Brother(s) and/or Sister(s). So check this guide to what to get...even when you're on a limited budget.

What to get your...Brother

I know that this Christmas a lot of men, whatever their age, will be wanting the new Playstation 2. This is a bit over everybody’s price barrier I think, so there must be something else that will make them happy, like the following ideas.

  • PREZZIE: Normally the reaction to getting a pair of socks at Christmas is one of absolute surprise but not in a good way. However, this year there are such a great selection of socks
  • TYPES: There are various Simpsons and South Park socks along with many other patterns and pictures. Some even make noises!
  • SHOP: BHS and Woolworths
  • PRICE: £2.99 for normal socks

  • PREZZIE: Posters
  • TYPES: A wide variety from football
players to Buffy The Vampire Slayer to wrestlers(another phenomenon which is making its way back into this country).
  • SHOP: places like Athena, HMV or WH Smith
  • PRICE: from £3.99

They can give a If this still doesn’t make your big/little bro happy then look in your local music store and get him a voucher so that he can buy the music he would like.

What to get your...Sister

Sisters are often difficult to buy for as it depends what age they are.

  • PREZZIE: For your siter in the early teens a perfect present is a photo frame.
  • TYPE: Very decorative, bright frame and small, possibly with pink fluff and little flower shape frames. They’re just perfect.
  • SHOP: Athena
  • PRICE: Some are only £3.99 and don't get much more expensive.

  • PREZZIE: For the older
sister the best present perhaps is a piece of jewellery.
  • TYPE: You can never fail
with jewellery just as long as you
do not buy something chunky for someone who is quite thin.
  • SHOP:The best place to go is Accessorize. They do good quality things and they give you a wide variety to choose from and you can get anything there from rings to necklaces to toe rings.
  • PRICE: You can get some nice stuff for around £10 there.

If none of their jewellery seems the sort of thing your sister would like how about one of the bags or scarves or even some of the makeup they have in Accesssorize, which is great for presents this year.

What to get...Younger Kids

If there are any young kids in your family then you could end up spending a lot of money, as the most expensive toys such as all of the Pokemon toys and the infamous but scarce Tracy Island are going to set you back a bit. However, there are some exceptions to the rule.

  • PREZZIE: The good old Sylvanian families are still out and a Baby Sylvanian Tree House is agreat gift.
  • SHOP: Hamleys or your local toy shop.
  • PRICE: £9.99 (price quoted from Hamleys in London) but it is a bargain when you see it.

  • PREZZIE: For the more
    active child,
things are harder to buy. One thing that never fails though is a simple football.
  • SHOP: Toys 'r' Us or similar Toy Shops
  • PRICE: £8.99
for a basic ball, £15 for a leather one

If all else fails huge variety packs of chocolate will always go down well with young kids. These could come from anywhere but places like Woolworths are usually the cheapest and the best.

Hopefully by now you should be stacked with ideas and well on your way with great ideas, which are cheap but will bring a few smiles on Christmas day. Have a Merry Christmas and I hope you and I both get loads of prezzies!

-Josie
