Burger King sponsor part-time jobs online with pupiline

Burger King are sponsors of a new part-time jobs section of teen site pupiline.net run by 16 year-old schoolboy, Oli Watts.

The deal also allows youngsters to apply online through the site for jobs at their local Burger King restaurants, an idea currently being trialled in East Anglia but which it’s believed could spread across the rest of the UK.

After agreeing to take part in a feature for the site about part-time work for youngsters, including advice on their rights and employers’ attitudes to teenage staff, Burger King’s East Anglian franchisee, Cenghis Ahmet, decided the next logical step was to advertise through pupiline for part-time workers for his restaurants in Colchester, Braintree and Copdock near Ipswich and for the youngsters to fill in an application form while online.

Karl Davie who manages all three restaurants for Ahmet said: "We are always looking at innovative ways of recruiting youngsters. Pupiline is an excellent website with a lot of useful and fun information for young people. We think it’s a great idea to encourage youngsters to apply for jobs with us through the site. Thousands of youngsters out there are surfing the net and we believe this could be an excellent way for us to recruit bright and resourceful young people over the web. We have already recruited four excellent staff for our Colchester and Braintree restaurants through the site and we have a number of other applicants waiting to be interviewed."

Managing Director of pupiline.net, Oli Watts, reckons the idea is a real winner too. "Loads of my friends are in the market for a part-time job at places like Burger King, and by applying through pupiline, they can check out a lot of really interesting and useful information and entertaining features about part-time work while they are doing it. It’s going down a storm."

Pupiline are currently in talks with a number of other potential sponsors for sections of the recently re-launched teen site which covers matters from bullying, teenaged pregnancy, exam stress, money matters to cool sections looking at films, music and the latest gadgets.
