What's Cool In...Oz - Edition 4

Hi! Your probably thinking, "Oh No! Not that annoying guy, from that place called Australia, who only talks about scooters!"

Well, just for a slight change, I'm going to once more give the number 1 cool spot to scooters! It's amazing how they're just getting even more popular and I'd say that they'll still be 'cool' for a long time.

Some items that are making their debut on the 'What's Hot List' are Hacky Sacks, bands like Limp Bizkit and 28 Days, hooded jumpers and instant messaging programs like ICQ and MSN Messenger. You probably all know what Hacky Sacks are but for those that don't, they're small, soft balls made of wool with wheat inside them. You see how many times you can kick them, head them or knee them in a group, as big as you want, or by yourself. They've been out for a while but they're just starting to become popular.

Two bands that are becoming extremely popular are Limp Bizkit and 28 Days. You've probably heard of Limp Bizkit, an American band, but I doubt you would of heard of 28 Days. 28 Days are an Australian band, based in a town quite close to where I live. They are becoming very popular, and they even did a song for the movie MI:2 (Mission Impossible 2). Hooded jumpers have been in fashion all winter but I've only thought of them till now, just about everyone wears them.

Don't ask me why, but Instant Messaging programs ARE COOL, this is probably because more and more people are getting on the internet and want a way to talk to their friends that's a bit different . There are loads of Instant Messaging programs you can choose from, if you don't already have one, which I doubt very much. My favourites are ICQ and MSN Messenger.

Here's the What's Hot List:

What's Hot

What's Not

Micro Scooters! (erh?!)

Walkmans (now that MP3 players are around)

Hooded Jumpers

Bikes

Hacky Sacks

People who can't think of any more things that aren't in fashion

Limp Bizkit & 28 Days

Instant Messaging Programs

What's Up In...Oz

Teenagers in Australia are getting really excited for a few different reasons. The first on is obvious, The Olympics! There are under 20 days till the games are opened and everyone is talking about them. Secondly, the summer is very close, which means great surf! I, along with many others can't wait. The new catalogues, for the upcoming summer, are out and there are some great new wetsuits, clothing, and watches. I especially like the look of the new Tide Watches by Rip Curl. The only problem is the price.

Third and finally, the holidays are coming up! We only have a few more weeks of torture left in the term then, after two weeks, it will start all over again, when we have to go back to school...again.

Just because I live in Australia doesn't mean that I don't follow the English Soccer (or football to you). I'm am a definite Manchester Untied fan. My tip for the Premier League is Manchester United, my tip for the FA Cup is Manchester United, and my tip for the European Champions League is, you guessed it, Manchester United!

That's all from, over here, in Oz.
