Pop Update 16...The Latest Reviews from the World of Pop

: Absolutely Fantastic, A must have

: Really Good, Buy It

: Worth a listen

: Give it a miss

: Whose bright idea was this

Sugababes – Next Year

Of all the songs in the charts at the moment and the ones that have been released this week, this deserves to be Christmas Number 1. Firstly, it actually mentions Christmas in it. It’s a lovely song – I definitely think for Christmas it's  better than Eminem. It has a really catchy choruses and brilliant harmonies that you will never get tired of singing along to.

Westlife – What Makes A Man

The first thing that strikes me about this song is that it is remarkably similar to their first single'Swear It Again'. The opening chords are exactly the same – the only difference is Shane sings, "Yeah" at the beginning. I’m beginning to get tired of Westlife and although it will be a big hit, it shouldn’t.

Whitney Houston – Heartbreak Hotel

Featuring guest vocals from Faith Evans and Kelly Price, Whitney’s latest single is a very nice ballad that gives all singers a chance to show off their vocal talents. It was re-mixed for the UK. I prefer the original version but it’s still a good song.
