Pop Update 4

What's Up In the 'World of Pop',

- absolutely fantastic
- still worth buying
- not bad
- definitely not one to buy
- who's bright idea was it to release this as a song?

Eminem - Real Slim Shady

This song is absolutely brilliant. Every time I hear it I can't help joining in, which considering the lyrics and the fact that I normally sing along when my parents are driving in the car, probably isn't the best thing to do but it's worth it. My favourite line has to be the bit about Dr. Dre. I was on a chat room recently and someone asked - "where is Dr Dre ?" I was able to say that Dr Dre is dead and locked in my basement - it was funny. I hope it goes to number one especially with all the bad press that Eminem has been receiving lately and the fact that it is a fantastic song.

Blink 182 - What's My Age Again?

The lyrics in this song are also really funny, and again I like to sing along when I really shouldn't, but never mind. I have been a big fan of Blink since they released this song first time around, and personally I prefer it to All The Small Things although the video for that was hilarious. I hope it goes to Number.2, because although I love this song, I want Eminem to go to Number.1.

Album: Bon Jovi - Crush

When I first heard It's My Life I thought - "Bon Jovi is back with the same hard rock we know and love him for". Little did I know that his latest album, Crush, would be so -well - totally amazing. Each song on this album is really good. There are so many feel good  romantic songs on it. Track no 3 "Thank You For Loving Me" says it all. I'm going to have to convince my future husband, whoever he is, to play that at our wedding. Don't get me wrong, if you liked It's My Life you will definitely like this album, it has good solid rock followed by more good solid rock but the band have an amazing song writing talent, which allows their music to appeal to everyone. This album encourages me to spend £33 on concert tickets to go and see them. One of my favourite tracks on this is Two Story Town. It has a great guitar riff in it and a solid beat on top of which Jon's lovely vocals can be heard. Okay, it might be evident from this that I'm not going to say a wrong word against Bon Jovi because I think that Jon is more than a little cute. But as all professional critics say personal opinions have no bearing on the review. In all honesty now, I really do like this album and I feel that if your pocket money is burning a hole in your pocket, this is a worthwhile buy. I feel I have to say something about Captain Crash and The Beauty Queen From Mars. Although it may be a very long and weird title, I have listened to this track more times than the rest of the songs put together. Again it is a really upbeat kind of rock/pop song that will have you singing all day long. If you really feel depressed listen to this song and the belief that you can do anything will come into your head. I am definitely going to listen to this song around the time of the exam results, because with this song I know that everything will be alright no matter what.
