Pupiline involved in Designing and Manufacturing Across Countries Pupiline have been working with a school in France to design embroidery for shirts to be used as marketing and promotional items for the site.
The school is in Beaurevoir in the Picardie region of France, which is famous in part for its lace and embroidery industries. The school has the only specialist vocational section specifically set up to train young people to work in the industry and to maintain the labour force for future generations.
The school is a partner, along with the College I go to, in an EU project called €urolink http://www.colchsfc.ac.uk/eurolink/default.htm which is supported by the British Council to promote communication and young people's connections throughout the EU.
The school were asked if they could take the pupiline brand and embroider it onto a selection of Polo shirts.
The images and layout were detailed by us then sent to the students in France by email and as paper printed templates with the sample shirts.
The brand logos were then digitised and programmed through bespoke software to create the embroidery code for the machines.
These pictures show the actual embroidery machines at work.
This is a photo of the finished Polo Shirt:
The whole exercise took several weeks to complete, but is a good illustration of how cross cultural, bilingual projects can work between young people. We are really pleased with the shirts and thank the students and staff of the College Josquin des Pres for their support and hard work.
