Endorsement from Matt Holland - Ipswich Town Captain "First of all - bullying is wrong! No one has the right to hurt you or your friends. Whether it is by hitting, kicking, calling them names or even spreading nasty rumours. If someone is doing this to you or making you do something you do not like, tell someone. You don't have to deal with someone who is intentionally upsetting you.
They might try to tease you because you are different, whether you are good at a certain subject or because you just wear glasses - they look for a reason… sometimes even when they don't exist!!!!!
Don't believe what they say - I've always found the best thing is to believe in yourself and be proud of who you are.
I told everyone I wanted to be a footballer and lots of people laughed at me, but I wasn't going to be teased out of my ambition. Luckily for me with lots of practice and hours of training, it has paid off, and I am now captain of a professional football team, Ipswich Town. If you are being bullied, don't keep it a secret as this is exactly what the bully wants you to do. They are so scared of you telling someone! Put an end to the hurt or upset it must be causing you.
Tell someone who you can trust. I had a great teacher who I really trusted, but it could be a friend or a member of your family.
Do something - you owe it to yourself. So make sure you take a look at pupiline.net - it has a great deal to offer in support, advice and some really cool stuff.
It's a great site for all you young people!!"
