Bullying

What is Bullying?

Bullying is where people are made to feel very uncomfortable in many different ways. Bullying is mostly common in schools, although it can happen anywhere at all.

Why do people get Bullied?

People can be bullied for all types of reasons, and even for no reason at all! Particularly children in schools can be bullied through no fault of their own. i.e. because of their skin or hair colour, their name, the shoes and clothes they wear. Even though there is nothing wrong with them.

Why do people Bully others?

People who Bully are mean. Maybe they Bully others to make themselves look good? Maybe they Bully because they are jealous of the victim, or even just plain bored?! Who knows?!

What do you do if you are being Bullied?

If you are being bullied, think about what is happening to you. It isn't right and it needs to get sorted.

  1. Tell someone early on, before the situation gets even worse!
  2. Stick to what and who you are. Don't change yourself for anyone!
  3. Try and believe that the problem is within the Bully and not within your own self.

So, what types of Bullying are there?

There are 3 main types of bullying.

  1. Verbal Bullying
  2. Mental Bullying
  3. Physical Bullying
      • Verbal Bullying is where the bully calls you names and makes threats etc...
      • Mental Bullying is where the bully use's abusive language towards you.
      • Physical Bullying is where the bully physically hurts you. This can include pushing, punching, and kicking etc...

"All of the above are types of bullying. They are serious, and should be sorted out as soon as possible. If you know of someone who is a Bully, please tell someone so that the victim doesn't have to suffer alone any longer."

"I was bullied at school for quite a while. It took me a long time to come to terms with it and to open up. I thought I could sort it out myself by avoiding 'her' but I couldn't. After a while it all got on top of me and I avoided school altogether. I made myself ill and never did return back to school."

"I'm going to make something of my life. I'm going to prove it to myself, my friends, my family and I want to prove it to 'her'. If I saw 'her' walking down the road, I would without a doubt cross over to the other side. But, one day that will change. I know it will."

"Basically, what I want to say is 'The Longer you carry a problem, the heavier it gets'. If you are being bullied at school, or anywhere else, tell someone straight away before things get on top of you. If I'd have done just that, then maybe things wouldn't have turned out the way they did."
