The Retro File...An Intro To The World Of Retro And Kitsch

I've been getting a feeling of déjà vu recently. Wherever I go things appear to be oddly familiar. Is she going mad, I hear you all ask? Well safe to say, the answer's no, because I'm talking retro here.

Yep, it's everywhere and it's BIG with a capital B, I and G! Even Barbie's at it!

We're talking hot pants, Space Hoppers, Twister, Scooters, flares…… Everything you may have seen popping up in old family albums or thought was safely left behind in the 20th century, is back with a 21st century twist.

We've already seen the comeback of the 50's pedal pushers and now we're moving into the late seventies and early eighties. You'll currently see 70's disco glammer is back. Glitter, flares, space-hoppers, teensy weenie hot pants, yes real Daisy Dukes (see the Dukes of Hazard review, if you can't remember those crazy dukes) and boob tubes. That's it we're talking Charlie's Angels, Saturday Night Fever….OVER THE TOP, TOTALLY..

Next up are the 80's and word is that leg warmers are set to make a comeback!

So is retro just an excuse for lazy designers and charity shop fanatics, or is it 'groovy', 'hip', 'ace' and 'pukka'?

Well here, we're down with that retro 'thang', it gives you the chance to be an individual and show some creativity. It also takes you back to your early years and you can start reminiscing of times before we hit the 21st century. Well I'm off to play a game of 'Guess Who', while watching the A-Team, Eating Nerds and wearing my leg warmers.
