Charlie's Angels @ UGC, Ipswich

STARRING: Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, Bill Murray, John Forsythe, Matt LeBlanc, Tom Green, Crispin Glover, Tim Curry

VERDICT: Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes this film rocked, brilliant no-brainer fun, which will leave you with a huge grin on your face.

Sitting down to watch this I really thought it would suck, but oh boy! was I wrong, it was supremely cool and is destined to be a huge box office hit. It has pretty much everything you could want from a dumb action movie and will thrill anybody who watches this great film. I know what yer probably thinking, it's gonna be like all those other  TV shows that get turned into films and are utter crap, hello to The Avengers, Lost in Space and The Saint, but I promise this is different.

Ok, not much happens really, but at least it makes sense, unlike The Avengers, which I though was the most confusing film of all time. Simply, there are the three Angels the wild Dylan (Barrymore, amazingly cute), the sexy Alex (Liu, amazingly sexy) and the brainy Natalie (Diaz, amazingly stunning) and their mission, given to them by the anonymous millionaire Charlie, (Forsythe) is to track down a kidnapped computer millionaire and his ultra hi-tech software. They're aided by the boss of the business Bosley (Murray, a comic genius on top form) and there's a few twists, turns and double crosses, but that's it really.

The plot in the massive blockbuster movie is never the main thing to make it a classic though, instead it needs a certain list of ingredients and Charlie's Angels has them all in abundance. It has great action sequences, brilliant choreographed kung-fu fight sequences, wicked special effects (looking very Matrix like), really funny and corny jokes, top performances from a really fine cast and it has there very very very, very, very, very good looking ladies.....oh my!. Also for once it has a plot, which might be very predictable, but actually makes some sense (a novelty for these films), it's nothing special but it won't insult your intelligence.

Not only that, and sorry ladies, the Angels are sooooo fine looking, particularly Diaz who just kept shaking her booty for the camera and boy was that enjoyable. All their costumes were suitably retro and revealing and they were outlandishly sexy, which makes a change for the lads in the audience who usually have to watch sweaty Tom Cruise flex his pecks. If you add to that the terrific and extremely funny cameos by MTV comedian Tom Green and Friends star LeBlanc (who basically played Joey, which was hilarious) then you've got the correct mixture for thrilling entertainment.

I left the cinema full of energy and with the widest grin on my face because I enjoyed it so much, if you want that to happen to you, get down the cinema, I know I'll be seeing it a few more times.

(yes, five out of five)
