Me, Myself & Irene @ Odeon, Ipswich

STARRING: Jim Carrey, Renée Zellweger, Mongo Brownlee, Anthony Anderson, Jerod Mixon

VERDICT: Don't watch this film on your own, go with a big group of mates and your sides will split with laughter

The Farrelly Brothers are back and this time they're grosser and sicker than ever, really pushing the boundaries in tasteless non-PC humour, and everybody's gonna lap it up. You know the guys, America's Public enemy No.1, film director Brothers, who were responsible for the great 'Kingpin',  over-top comedy 'Dumb & Dumber' and probably one of the greatest comedies of all time, 'There's Something About Mary'. This time, however they have gone one further and you'll never believe the gags and the plot in this film.

The best way to summarise the plot is to say that Jim Carrey plays two characters, but they're not different people strictly speaking, well they are but they're different people in the same body. You see after his wife leaving himto look after her three black sons (obviously not his, as his wife is running off with a Black midget who's a member of Mensa), Motorcycle Cop, Charlie (Carrey) goes slightly off the wall and develops Hank(Carrey), a demented split personality. A series of events leads to him and golf course manager Irene(Zellweger) being on the run from the FBI and some crazy villains, who think Irene knows too much. Charlie's there to help, but only if he takes his pills every 6 hours and guess what...he's lost the pills, so Hank beckons.

To some this might sound like the sickest most despicable idea for a movie to be based upon, ever in the history of 'sicko' films and the universe, especially an out and out comedy film. While others will sit and laugh all the way through, at some of the lowest dirtiest jokes ever to hit the screen. What did I do? Well I did the latter, I'm really sorry if it offends anybody but IT WAS FUNNY. In my defence and of the film, it didn't actually trivialise the seriousness of mental illness and the jokes were not aimed at Charlie's/Hank's conditions. The humour was pretty low but it avoided being grossly over offensive, believe it or not, there are certain things that I won't watch.

So do go and see it, anyone who reads these reviews regularly 'probably' won't be offended. Yet again I can't and won't go in to the actual jokes, but you'll be shocked, you'll also probably fall off yer seat, choke on yer popcorn and need medical attention as YOU WILL LAUGH, A LOT.

If you liked this, you'll love:
