Chicken Run @ Odeon, Manchester

STARRING: Mel Gibson, Julia Sawalha, Jane Horrocks

VERDICT: Clucking Brilliant!

A second treat for audiences of all ages, comes in the form of plasticine models of chickens!

Created by Wallace and Gromit makers - Nick Park and Peter Lord - and their company - Aardman Animaton. After the excellent Toy Story 2, along comes another films that works for so many people.

The basic storyline is that Mrs Tweedy's Chicken Farm is run by her in a 'concentration camp' stylie. Any chicken that steps out of line ends up and her hen-pecked husband's belly.

Ginger, one of the leading hens, dreams of the the outside world; but it is Rocky, the American Rooster who seemingly holds the key to the escape plans.

This film offers something great for everyone, especially the background characters amusing facial expressions, the whole things is just side-splittingly brilliant; even the references to other adventure films, particularly Indiana Jones and The Great Escape. The universal appeal seems to come from the Very British jokes, making it a huge hit here, and stateside!
